WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR CONSULTATION
During your consultation the initial focus will be on diagnosis
During your consultation the initial focus will be on diagnosis. Diagnosis for TMJ pain primarily consists of a four step process to determine if:
- There’s physical evidence that there is a conflict between the teeth and the jaw joints. Try this yourself. Very slowly close your teeth together and see if one side touches first and then if you squeeze your teeth, see if they all touch. If they don’t touch all together, you have a wobbly bite.
- There’s pain in the jaw joints or muscles
- The pain can be proven to be linked to the conflict. (One of the ways this is accomplished is by using Dr. Simon’s painless, patented and FDA approved BestBite Discluder.)
- Relieving the conflict between the teeth and the jaw joints stops the pain
If all four steps check out you can be sure that your pain IS due to TMJ dysfunction syndrome and we can help you.
