Now there’s a “prepless” veneer that is not only conservative but that really looks great. The original prepless veneers like Lumineers tended to be bulky and chalky looking, so the better cosmetic dentists and more discerning patients shied away from them.  In fact, frequently Lumineers gave cosmetic dentistry a bad name.  But Durathin Veneers® are extremely thin—generally 0.2 to 0.4mm. And once bonded, they’re unbelievably strong. By incorporating a traditional porcelain build-up technique, instead of using popular pressed ceramics, Durathin Veneers can block out undesirable colors and allow the beauty of the patient’s natural teeth to shine through. Our specially trained ceramists build each case on at a time so that the color is built into the veneer instead of adding it to the surface, like Lumineers, allowing greater control of color and translucency. The result is that the color always looks great.

pressed ceramic products, our technicians are able to make shade changes, correct ortho problems, and make other cosmetic improvements while you remove little or no patient enamel. Durathin veneers are very aesthetically pleasing because they are created by blocking out undesirable colors and allowing the beauty of the natural teeth to shine through. Because all of the color is built into the veneer instead of added on to the surface, we are able to make the most of the available space. Durathin veneers are great for patients who are concerned about having too much enamel removed. Prior to bonding, these veneers are extremely fragile because they are so thin (sometimes less than ¼ of a mm). However, once they are bonded they become very durable.
