Prevention Corner
For most adults, periodontal or gum disease represents a bigger threat to keeping their teeth than decay. Dental researchers now know that some people are simply more susceptible to gum disease than other people. Brushing and flossing, while still the cornerstone of a good home care program, are simply not enough for many people.
A breakthrough that has come along to help is called the Hydroflosser. This is a high-tech water irrigating device that uses pulsing water jets combined with a magnetic charge on the water molecules to help repel the plaque from hard-to-reach surfaces under the gum line and between the teeth. Patients using the Hydroflosser have less plaque, fewer bleeding points and less gum inflammation at their checkups.
The Hydroflosser is available right here at Dental Care. It is especially recommended for people with fixed bridge work, people who are prone to gum disease and for people who just don't like to floss.
