Laser Bonded Fillings

A new breakthrough in bonding fillings has been achieved.  Using an Argon Curing laser to bond fillings, onlays and porcelain veneers has been shown to make the bonded restoration 36% harder and to reduce polymerization shrinkage and leakage. The benefit to the patient is a restored tooth that is stronger and less likely to have additional decay.

Laser bonded fillings will save you the time and expense of future dental repairs.

The traditional, and previously state-of-the-art, method to bond and harden fillings in teeth is a light gun similar to a slide projector bulb.  The bulbs are not that powerful and emit a white light that covers the full spectrum of the rainbow.  The "problem" is that only one specific part of the light spectrum hardens the fillings, so the curing light is rather inefficient and gets the filling only 80% hard.

The new laser has a very powerful, but entirely safe, light that is in the exact wave length required to harden the filling.

The laser is so powerful that it can safely harden the fillings in 5 seconds instead of 40 seconds. The Argon Curing laser requires an investment of nearly $20,000 compared to a $600 investment for ordinary curing lights.
