Your Freedom To Choose
May Be At Risk
Your right, in a free country, is to make choices. In the managed-care environment, the insurance companies are putting profits ahead of free choice for the patients. But you can fight for your rights.
To save money and increase profits, many insurance companies are selecting specific dentists based on the dentists agreeing to offer fewer services and accept lower fees. These lower fees make it impossible for the dentist to offer those services, further reducing available services.
As a result, some services, such as sealants to prevent decay, fluorides for home use and newer technologies such, as laser dentistry, may simply not be offered. If the dentist never offers you the newest and best procedures, you could have far more problems.
To preserve your right to free choice, make sure that your company's dental plan does not restrict who you can go to. If they are considering a new plan, protest any restrictions. If there are choices of different plans, take the one that has no restrictions. Often the people who make the choice of what type of plan to get don't really understand the consequences of their decision. Use this newsletter to help educate them.
At Dental Care of Stamford you always have choices. Don't let the insurance industry rob you of your choices to improve their profits at the cost of your dental health.
